TV Sports Then & Now

Which sports have maintained their value and appeal over the years?

Sports that have maintained their value and appeal throughout the years were Baseball, Basketball, Football, Boxing, and Horse racing. The reason these sports have continued to stay on top of sports entertainment is because they engage the fans. With everyone favoring different teams and players that they enjoy watching will have the viewer engaged to continue to watch their sport. Another reason why these have become mainstream is because these are the sports shown on TV for viewers to watch. If Barrel jumping was shown, as much as football, I am pretty sure they would have a great following of fans as well.

Which sports have lost their impact and why do you fell that has happened?

Sports that have lost their impact were rocking climbing, tree climbing, barrel jumping. If you notice these sports are not very engaging with the fans. They are very straight to the point with no action really. Not only was there not a lot of action, but also they didn’t get aired as much as the mainstream sports. These sports didn’t get the publicly seen like basketball or footballs to even insure them a spot as a successful sport.

Palone Sets World harness racing win record

Date: Nov. 15, 2014

http://www.si.com/horse-racing/2014/11/15/ap-rac-harness-racing-record

This article talks about how Dave Palone earning this record career victory at The Meadow Racetrack & Casino out in Pittsburgh. He also was inducted into the Harness Racing Hall back in 2010.The reason why this sport was not popular was because of the actual sports of horse racing. This sport seems like a breakoff sport from the normal horse racing. With that being said this sport doesn’t have that viewer catch like horse racing does. An example is that Horse racing has betting as well as the well own Triple Crown races that happen every year. Getting the fans a chance to feel apart of the action.

Interviews:

Scenario A:

What are the storylines you would focus on going into the interview?

Questions I would ask the quarterback are how does it feel to throw 316 yard and touchdowns despite losing game? Why do you think your team didn’t lacked in? What could you guys have done better as a team to insure the win? Even though this player lost his game. These are question that the viewer would like answer to as well.

What do you need to know?

I need to know what’s the quarterbacks stand point on the game and his team. I don’t want him bashing his teammates because he doesn’t care. I need to know who was injured before the game and after the game. I need to know his stats for his whole team.

What are the questions you would ask to get that information?

The questions I would ask to insure getting some information for the player would be what could have went better during the game? How does this outcome affect this what your prediction for the rest of the season? How does playing your first team feel? Does it feel good to be back?

   Scenario B:

What are the storylines you would focus on going into the interview?

The storylines I would focus on are what is the purpose of attempting this dangerous stunt? I would make sure to try and make sure he stays on topic with the question when he tries to detour away from it.

What do you need to know?

I need to know a lot. There is one main question I need an answer too and that is why is it so important to do this stunt. What is it going to do for his career and what is he aiming to do if he achieves this.

What are the questions you would ask to get that information?

I would ask a couple of general questions that I am sure everyone wants answers too. What impact is this going to have on your life? A lot of people are saying this is a stupid stunt and anything could go wrong, what’s your stand point after hearing this?
